It has been a hot minute since we hosted our first-ever webinar.
The session provided a brilliant forum for those interested in taking a fresh approach to their content to see if what they are producing is hitting their company's key messages and resonating with their target market.
For anyone who couldn't attend, here are some takeaways in the form of excerpts from the webinar to help you become more content with your content....
The power of content is real and CAN benefit purchasing decisions.
2. Your messaging is the home of all of your written content - and doesn't just benefit marketing efforts but also sales outreach. If you nail your messaging, all the good stuff will easily flow from.
3. Ensure you understand your what, why and where your competitive edge is - and ensure everyone in the team is singing from the same hymnsheet.
4. Lack of alignment on your message internally will dilute its impact externally.
5. Ensure your messaging is future-proof to evolve as your company does.
6. Weed out your waffle (aka jargon) to increase inclusivity and accessibility of content. The simple rule is - if you wouldn't use a specific phrase in conversation, don't use it in the written format.
7. Hosting a content briefing? Prepare your subject matter expert to guarantee that your conversation gives you valuable insight.
8. Don't forget to ask WHY... not asking the question could impact the quality and clarity of your copy.
9. Are you measuring the impact of your content? If not, how do you know it is hitting the mark with your target audience? Continually review what's working (and why).
10. Don't be afraid to take a critical look at the content you produce - if it isn't resonating, take feedback and pivot your approach to ensure your message does land.
11. Generative AI is a valuable ally in content creation, but don't relinquish control. Acknowledge the value you bring to the process - generative AI serves as an excellent aide, but it shouldn't take the helm.
12. And finally...
